ALL HERE

Today my supplies were delivered!! (I <3 you, UPS Man!)

So that means that we start loading THIS FRIDAY!

*cue dramatic music*

Anyone with last-minute advice for what we should buy is welcome to leave me a little comment, otherwise I think we'll be loading up on lean chicken, fish and yummy spices (after reading the labels CAREFULLY!) tonight at the local Meijer.

I changed our blog a little bit to read just as 'me' since I think Eddie wants to stay in the background more. (I told you - he's SHY.) I'll be updating his stats and input intermittantly, but it'll mainly be my info on here...

*phew* Finally!

On my load days, I liked the idea of supplementing fish oil caps. For my 2 days, I did a lot of those for the omega 3 benefit. It'll be a while before I can do any again. Keep the healthy fats in mind (nuts), but I guess you will want to load on things you won't have for awhile... pizza/lasagna, pork, potatoes,... I'm making myself salivate :-) Dr. S mentions pastries in his loading list... so include dessert fats too if you like them.

Woohoo! So excited for you to get started, amie!

An easy thing to add to your loading is sunflower seeds, cashews and walnuts. They're filled with healthy fats and make for easy snacking in between those big meal times. Eat foods you enjoy, just eat higher fat versions of them.

I started out trying to eat the unhealthy foods people were saying I should eat and it just made me sick. And while I understand the need for loading, I didn't see the sense in making my body ill. So I switched quickly to foods I loved - ie. sushi, but chose fried instead of fresh. I still ate my turkey sandwiches, but ate them with avocado & wasabi mayo to add fat. Just a couple of examples.

Keep us posted!

Congrats on getting all your supplies! I wish you great success with this program as well as strength!
You certainly should eat foods that you enjoy. If you have had an unhealthy relationship to food like me, eat stuff you may crave during the first couple of weeks on the protocol. I found that it helped me knowing I got to eat whatever I wanted in those two days prior to the VLCD.
HAPPY DAY!!!

Eat what you think you will miss the most. Because girlie girl, you may never enjoy those things again! I certainly didn't! All except for the sushi, that was good the 2nd time around for sure!

Glad you got all your supplies and can't wait for you to start! WOO HOO FOR YOU!

Amie,
Enjoy the journey,it's an adventure and you and Eddie WILL SUCCEED. The injections are a piece of cake after the apprehension of the 1st one. Doing your own injections will be easy.
Don't forget a trip to Dairy Queen.
A kindred spirit,
Darryl
